| September 7, 2010: DSF funds 25 government officials to pursue Master programs in UK
Twenty five government officials from the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Home Affairs, and Bappenas will be leaving for the UK this month to pursue Master degree studies funded by the DSF Decentralization Education Training (DET) program. The scholarships are worth a total of US$1 million. The DET scholarship programme is part of DSF's commitment to strengthen the capacity of government officials through providing high-quality decentralization education on important aspects of public service delivery, principally fiscal decentralization and social accountability. |
| July 23, 2010: MoHA Public Discussion Forum
On July 23 the Directorate General of Public Administration, Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) supported by the Decentralization Support Facility (DSF) successfully held an interactive public dialog on “The Management of State Border Areas”. The dialog, part of MoHA’s effort to enhance two-way communication with the public in accordance with Law 14/2008 on Freedom of Information, was the third of a series of monthly dialogs to be held by MoHA in 2010. The Home Affairs Minister listened and responded to pertinent issues expressed not only by participants present at the forum, but also by representatives in Sangihe and Kupang via live Radio Republik Indonesia broadcast. The 150 dialog participants included high level government representatives, including Head of DPR (House of Representatives) Commission II, Vice Governor of East Kalimantan, Secretary of Maluku Province, Mayor of Banda Aceh, experts on border areas, NGOs, international development agencies, and print & electronic media. |
